Despite its name, the Southern Medical Association (SMA) wanted to position itself as a welcoming organization for physicians everywhere—not just those practicing below the Mason-Dixon line. I wrote this full-page membership recruitment ad, which ran in MGMA Connection magazine, to help reframe what "Southern" means: not a geography, but a mindset defined by warmth, personal attention, and genuine investment in its members' success.


SMA’s insurance and financial services arm, SMA Services, needed to reach physicians with a suite of medical malpractice and liability insurance products at a moment when the landscape of medical risk was shifting rapidly. I wrote this trifold direct mail piece to meet physicians where they were: acknowledging the uncertainty of the moment, then positioning SMA Services as the reassuring, personally attentive solution.

Grant timeline for UWW’s International Donor Assisted Giving (IDAG) program

United Way Worldwide's IDAG program is one of the most far-reaching philanthropic vehicles in the world, directing over $300 million to organizations in more than 110 countries over the last decade. For donors making international grants, the process can be opaque and intimidating; UWW needed a clear, reassuring document that walked donors through every step of the grant timeline from commitment to disbursement. I wrote this two-page explainer, collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders across several rounds of revision to ensure the language was precise, legally accurate, and accessible to a non-specialist audience, while remaining warm enough to reflect UWW's people-first brand values.
