Technical fluency with a human touch.
I specialize in breaking down sophisticated concepts in highly technical industries to create clear, compelling stories for both B2B and B2C audiences.
Over decades as a professional storyteller, I’ve studied with National Book Award nominees and worked alongside Pulitzer Prize winners; I’ve worked in both narrative and documentary film at every stage, from script coverage to post-production; and I continue to hone my storytelling sense as a professor at the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Visual Narrative program.
I bring all that experience to every project I take on, turning complex data into copy that’s human — copy that connects.
The AI Question
The question — “Do you use AI?” — may be fraught, but for me, the answer is simple: “Whenever it best serves the client.”
I’ve had clients who absolutely refuse to use AI in their deliverables. I’ve had others who insist on using it. I’ve found that certain AI tools can be useful on a case-by-case basis; I’ve also learned no matter how sophisticated the tool, every project needs a writer who can scrutinize AI outputs with a sharp critical eye.
While I don’t rely on AI by default, I believe it’s crucial to be AI-proficient. That’s why I’ve earned a certification in Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT from Vanderbilt University, become a Writer.ai Power User, and trained myself to work with Claude. The tools may keep changing, but the need for a discerning human voice won’t.
