WHITE PAPER: How to Increase Physician Recruitment and Retention Through a Total Compensation Package
For more than 100 years, the Southern Medical Association (SMA) has made it their mission to improve the quality of patient care through multispecialty, interprofessional education. That mission is especially urgent in the rural South, where the need for quality healthcare is greatest. To that end, SMA asked me to write a white paper based on a webinar moderated by SMA Services’ vice president, Mark Massey, with advice on how make total compensation more attractive to potential hires. The final piece appeared in MGMA Connection magazine, a trade publication for medical practice professionals nationwide.
Community Case Studies
Quantum Fiber commissioned a series of brand-agnostic case studies exploring how fiber-optic internet was transforming communities across the United States. Each piece required original reporting — identifying and tracking down key stakeholders including municipal and state government officials, nonprofit leaders, university researchers, and private business owners, then conducting interviews and shaping their experiences into compelling, human-centered narratives. From Seattle's unhoused populations gaining their first reliable internet access to expanded connectivity across rural Minnesota, the goal was to tell a larger story about what fast, reliable internet access means for the people and communities who need it most. WHITE PAPER: What We Learned in a Healthcare Crisis — Current Patterns in Value-Based Care
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) partnered with Allscripts to make the case for a fundamental shift in patient care. In the wake of COVID-19, which exposed deep vulnerabilities in the fee-for-service model while demonstrating the resilience of value-based care, MGMA tasked me with turning that argument into a rigorously researched white paper — one that made a complex, data-heavy subject accessible and persuasive to a busy clinical audience. The finished piece appeared in MGMA Connection magazine.
